Guinness World Records TV
The nature of record-breaking is absolutely visual. It can be thrilling, funny, terrifying, bizarre, gross, stomach-turning and even heartwarming. We know this; in 55 years of gathering and adjudicating records, we’ve seen some pretty amazing sights. So in 1998, Guinness World Records, realizing that our business lends itself to the small screen so naturally, developed a television department.
Since then, Guinness World Records television shows have been seen by a quarter of a billion people in over 90 countries, and we are committed to the development of new factual entertainment programming. Original productions in the USA, UK Australia, Japan, Spain, France, Germany, Italy Scandinavia and China are complemented by distribution deals in an additional 80 territories spanning six continents. Local productions in key markets have seen the creation of more than 650 hours of primetime and access-primetime family entertainment, which has consistently ranked number one in its timeslot.
We work closely with broadcasters in each territory to create bespoke program formats designed to celebrate, reflect and respect local and cultural nuance, as well as showcase personalities and mind-blowing record attempts from all over the world. We work tirelessly to ensure our partners get true value from our collaborations and ultimately that they get a product which secures them the all important advertising dollars! The variety of content that can fit within a show’s format is staggering – from live action and pre-recorded stunts, through to bizarre people and amazing items – the cocktail of line-ups is endless.
